The other problem (for me) with those drum apps is that they're sampled at 44.1kHz, when my projects are all 48kHz (necessary for pro video, TV or Dolby Atmos work) or 96kHz. I've bought one of the Groove Monkee MIDI file packs and it works great in Logic. They use the standard GM mapping so Logic's Drum Kit Designer will have no problems with playback or mapping. Which of those drum apps is best for previewing and auditioning? Otherwise, I guess I might have to use one of those drummer apps - just for previewing - then export them as MIDI files, and attach them to a sampled drum kit from elsewhere. Does anyone know if there's an easy way to preview and audition GM files? I think the difficulty might be previewing GM files in Logic. Groove Monkee is available in various file formats, including GM (general MIDI) files. I figured it would be great if I could just buy these midi packs from Groove Monkee, and then pair them with whichever drum kit I choose, including higher-sampled drum kits. Groove Monkee loops seem to be vastly cheaper than the loops that come with dedicated drum apps, such as Addictive, EZ, Superior, Steven Slate and BFD drums. I was thinking of buying Groove Monkee MIDI drum packs, which are on special as I write this.
